Students

Students of Atelier of Laura Lee Moreland are taught the skills they need in order to make the art they create, look the way they want it to look. Laura takes personal pride in taking care of all of her student’s needs during the whole of the course.

This is an intensive skill based program which suits people who really enjoy learning to do things well.

I have all your materials here and ready for you. I lead you through the process of choosing an image, learning to accurately draw an image, and getting this onto your canvas. Students are taught how to see shapes and light, how to lay down an imprematura and paint. Here is a list of the materials (and their value) which are included in the price of this course and will provided for you here, for you to use and keep.

Student Review:

Kathryn – This review has been a long time coming, but I wanted to really think about what to say before I posted any comment. I met Laura at Martello Alley, while I was admiring her stunning painting of Malala. She told me she was about to open her Atelier, and that she would be able to teach me how to produce a similar realistic painting in just 12 weeks. To say I was sceptical is an understatement! I have loads of artistic desire, but absolutely no discernible talent or skill. I literally can’t draw a straight line. I thought to myself “boy, am I ever going to prove her wrong!” Fast forward to the end of the twelve week course, and I am completely in awe of the painting I have created, as is anyone who has seen it! Those who know I have never painted before are gobsmacked, and everyone else doesn’t believe I haven’t been painting for years. Someone has already asked if they can buy my painting if I ever decide to part with it. I am by nature an introvert, and prefer not to call attention to myself, but I honestly feel like walking down the street holding my painting, stopping everyone I see to tell them “I did this!!!!!”But it wasn’t just me. Laura is so generous with her time, talent and resources. She is exacting in her expectations, but makes the process so easy to understand and execute. That is not to say there isn’t a learning curve. There were a few “hot messes” I had to fix, but Laura was patient and put everything in perspective when she explained we were aiming to be Da Vinci in 12 weeks, and that mistakes were part of the process.I have never taken such a personally rewarding class. If you have ever wanted to improve your painting skills, take this course! Is you have ever wanted to paint a portrait of a loved one, take this course! If, like me, you have never really painted anything but want to, TAKE THIS COURSE!!!!!I thought I would prove the nice lady at the art gallery wrong. Instead she proved me wrong, and I’m so glad she did!!!!
