Atelier of Laura Lee Moreland is the first and single professional Academy for teaching Traditional Classical Methods of drawing and painting in oils in Guelph. Furthermore it is one of a handful of these sort of Academies in the world.
Our Specialty: A condensed and intensive multi-week program which covers the fundamentals of a three year program.
Students will be expected to complete their first work within a 3-6 month period of time.
Does it work? YES! In 2018, EIGHT paintings from Atelier of Laura Lee Moreland competed on the provincial art level. The Master and her students applied for and were accepted to the Legislature’s 45 painting show for Arts Excellence in Ontario. The show, Art in Camera, accepted all EIGHT PAINTINGS. About 18% of that show came from this Atelier. Again in 2023, my youth student L. R’s work was accepted by the youth Art’s council art show. In this show my student received the Speaker of the House Award, for best best painting. This student has also been accepted into multiple art programs at the University level and we wish them the best in all future endeavours.
